Basic 101
Stamping Tips:
-
To ink up
your stamp:
Press or tap
the stamp firmly onto the stamp pad several times. Large stamps can
be inked easily by moving them around over the surface or by applying
the ink with a Rubber Brayer. Some stampers prefer to lay the stamp
face up on the table and apply the pad directly to the stamp that
way. Either way is fine.
-
Make sure
the stamp is well inked.
Be sure to
check the surface. If there are areas that appear dry or uninked you
will need to continue to ink the stamp up more thoroughly.
-
Have you
seasoned your new stamps?
New stamps
need a "seasoning" period before they will accept ink
evenly. So, after applying the ink, as in step 1, you will need to
"stamp-off" the ink onto a scratch piece of paper serveral
times. Just apply a firm, even pressure to the stamp against the
scrap piece of paper several times without reinking. Repeat the
process Reink, stamp stamp stamp, a few more times. When you see that
the ink on the scrap piece of paper is appearing more crisp and
complete you will have completed the seasoning process for that
particular stamp. Easy peasy!!
-
Do not
incorporate Rock 'n Roll:
When stamping
your image onto your project, try not to rock, roll, or slam the
stamp down onto the paper. This will cause over stamping or blurring
of the image.
Larger stamps
sometimes need to be massaged. Using an even pressure, stamp your
image and massage the top of the mount with your fingertips. Of
course with our awesome see-through designs you will be able to tell
exactly where the ink has been applied and will be able to guage just
how even it is. Awesome!!
Remember not
to throw away the foam padding that comes with each set. This pad can
be used to achieve a crisp clean image each and every time. Please
refer to the instructions that comes with each one of our stamp designs.
Be sure to
experiment with your stamps, really get to know them!! Have fun!! |
