So you bought
a Tombow® Blending Pen but you're not quite sure how to use it,
huh? Here are some creative things to try that will help you get the
most out of your new purchase, take a look...
The Tombow®
Blending Pen makes blending colors a breeze. This pen merges colors
for professional looking blending results every time you use it. The
blending pen can also be used to lighten colors or create a
watercolor look. This pen is water-based, alcohol-free and can be
used with all water-based markers, colored pencils, chalks, and inks.
So, how do
you use this pen? Here are a few tips...
-
Using several
short strokes, try to rub the paper as little as possible. The pens
are wet and will cause the paper to ball up unattractively if you rub
it too much.
-
To change
colors, wipe the blending pen on a piece of scrap paper until it runs clear.
-
To lighten a
color, touch the tip of the marker to the tip of the blending pen,
then color with the blending pen. Be sure to test it out on a scrap
paper first.
-
Try stamping
an image with a dye-based inkpad and then blend the outline color
into the design. Your image will have several tones of the same color
which adds depth and professionalism.
-
You can use
the Tombow® Blending Pen with our Exclusive Inks as well!!
Simply squeeze a closed Exclusive Inks pad together to adhere
an ink residue to the top inside cover of the pad case and then dab
your blending pen in it to pick up the color.
-
The blending
pen is perfect for watercolor pencils too. Make a palette with each
color you will be using by scribbling on a piece of slick paper such
as freezer paper. Then take the blending pen and pick up the color
and apply it to your image.
-
Using your
blender pen with Chalks is another great technique. Either pick up
the chalks directly with the pen and color, or blend with the pen
after your area is already colored. You won't need to spray fix the
chalks because the blending pen seals it for you!! |
