1. Start by
laying a sheet of scrap paper down on the table below your project to
protect your table from mishaps and then stamp an image onto white
tissue paper with your Exclusive Inks Archival pad or a dye
based ink.
2. Color your
image with colored pencils and then cut the tissue as close to the
image as possible.
3. Place image
onto a candle. Cheap Dollar Store Candles work the best. Use a tad
bit of glue to hold the tissue to the candle.
4. Next, use extreme
caution.
Heat the tissue and candle with your heat gun until the tissue
starts to disappear. Remember to always keep the hot air from the
heat gun moving back and forth so that the candle does not get over
heated in one spot. Also remember to keep the heat away from your
fingers. The heat gun can get extremely hot and I would hate for you
to burn your fingertips.
5. Remember to
turn off your heat gun and that you can reheat the candle if there
are a few sections that need improvement.
6. Buff your
candle with a some nylons to bring out a nice subtle shine.
For added
safety...You can also wrap the candle with wax paper while you heat
it. After heating just roll the candle with the wax paper still on it
to smooth any bumps.
Be very
careful when burning the candle. Never leave a candle unattended.
Remember, you are adding paper to the candle which makes it more flammable. |
