The Mission
of Operation Kids
It is a
wonderful time to be a child—children today are surrounded by
opportunity and resources. Yet many children also struggle with a
wide range of challenges, including hunger, illness, disabilities,
domestic violence, gang violence, teen pregnancy, illiteracy, drug
abuse, and more. It can be overwhelming, both for them and for us as
we struggle to find how we can help and where we can start.
The truth is,
no single issue is more important than another. All the needs of a
child are important and all contribute to the overall happiness and
success of the Whole Child. Operation Kids is a family of outstanding
and effective children’s charities, each dedicated to serving a
specific need. 100% of the donations OK generates is divided among
these charities to help improve the education, safety, environment,
health, welfare, and well-being of children. All at the same time!
Making It Happen
Operation
Kids™ fulfills its mission in two ways:
First, they
review and assess children’s charities according to strict
criteria to determine if a charity is efficient in its operations,
effective in its programs, and honest in its dealings. Those
children’s charities that meet the criteria are eligible to
receive the Operation Kids endorsement.
But Operation
Kids goes beyond merely awarding a seal of approval. Select charities
are invited to co-brand as “OK Charities.” Operation Kids
assists these OK Charities in maximizing fundraising efforts,
efficiently deploy resources, and building ongoing relationships with
donors and sponsors who otherwise would not be accessible.

Operation
Kids™ has established an independent financial source to fund
its own operational costs, assuring that 100% of every donation goes
directly to OK’s network of children’s charities. Because
of this financial independence there is no charge to be an OK
Charity, no dilution of precious donated funds, and no restrictions
on how donations may be used.

all the needs of children. Operation Kids is the first charity to
truly recognize the diverse and changing needs of children and, with
its partners, has found a way to serve the Whole Child.
